COMMISSIONS

What does it mean to commission an artwork?

Commissioned art is a piece of art that has been tailor made to your specifications. You might like the style of art I create, but the sizes are wrong or you have a specific colour scheme in mind.

I love working with collectors to create the perfect piece of art for their homes. If you are thinking of having a piece made just for you, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • I work either on paper (a plastic paper called Yupo) or on an aluminium art board (specialised for alcohol inks). My pieces on paper are less expensive than my pieces on art boards, however you will need to get your paper painting framed.

  • To find the perfect colour match and size, it is always a good idea to let me know where you are planning on hanging your artwork. You can even take a photo, along with some measurements of the space, and send it to me. This can help me to get a better idea of your space and I can then provide you with suggestions regarding colour and size. I also have the ability to digitally place a few test pieces in your space for you to get a better idea of what the colours would look like.

  • Once we have an idea of what you want, I will create a few test piece. For smaller piece of art, I normally create two choices for you to choose between. For bigger piece of art, I will create a few test pieces and you can choose the colours you prefer before I begin on the real piece.

You can expect the commission to take between 2 - 4 weeks once we have agreed on colour, size and price and once I have ordered the required materials.

I will require a small deposit before I can order any materials. I retain the rights to keep the deposit in case of cancellations. You can cancel your order before it leaves my studio.

My prices vary depending on size and wether you would like to add resin. My commission prices are generally similar to my other prices (original work). Shipping will be an additional cost.
