GLENBROOK

FOOTHILLS ECO, 1a Ross Street

This amazing shop is well worth a visit. Kathy who owns the shop is environmentally conscious and very passionate about supporting small creative and independent businesses. Most of the products in her shop are sourced locally from the Blue Mountains and the rest are either fair trade or sourced from other parts of Australia. With so many amazing artisan-made products, Foothills Eco is an absolute ‘must visit’ this Christmas.

Product spotlight:

Vintage clothing: The vintage clothing is absolutely stunning and it is not uncommon to find unique and extravagant pieces made from cashmere and silk. These dresses are made by Front Porch and up cycled from vintage fabrics.

Resin Coasters: Foothills Eco also stock a wide variety of my resin coasters. Each and every coaster has been handmade making them truely unique. These are the perfect colour boost for your home.

FAULCONBRIDGE

PICTURE IT FRAMED GALLERY, 481 Great Western Hwy.

Picture It Framed Gallery is a lovely little gallery and framing shop. The gallery is a great place to find local Blue Mountains art. I currently have a number of both framed and unframed pieces for sale in the gallery.

Product spotlight:

Handmade wooden pens: These pens are beautifully made in the workshop in the back of the gallery and are an absolute ‘must see’.

JulieMarieDesign original framed art: My art is displayed both as framed and unframed pieces, but I would definitely recommend buying framed art where possible. The art has been framed by the gallery and is of the best quality.

WENTWORTH FALLS

BLUE MOUNTAINS MAKERS, shop 4, 28-30 Station St

Blue Mountains Makers represents a variety of makers and artists from the Blue Mountains and Central West region of NSW. Blue Mountains Makers has currently acquired a shop space in Wentworth Falls and has just opened their doors, just in time for Christmas!

Product spotlight:

JulieMarieDesign original framed art: I have a few framed original pieces available in the Blue Mountains Makers shop. They are all A3 and framed with white matt boards in wooden frames.

Mishy Rowan Art Prints: I just love Mishy’s art. It is playful and happy, with an art therapeutic twist. I own a few of her prints and they are the perfect addition to my boys bedroom.

LEURA

THE NOOK, 133A Leura Mall

The Nook is a co-op made up of more than 35 Blue Mountains makers and artists, each bringing their unique talent to the shop. In The Nook you will find locally made honey and jam, children clothing, jewellery, art prints, beautiful bath bombs, hand-dyed silk scarves and much more. Of course you will also find my resin coasters, A4 art prints, original resin art and art cards.

Product Spotlight:

JulieMarieDesign art cards and prints: This is currently one of the only places I have art prints and cards available. My prints and cards have been printed on high quality art paper here in the Blue Mountains.

Blue Mama Makes bath bombs: These amazing bath bombs have all been made using plant based products. They are eco and vegan-friendly using no plastic packaging.

JOSOPHAN’S FINE CHOCOLATES, 187-197 Leura Mall

Josophans is an amazing boutique chocolate shop full of beautifully crafted fair trade chocolates. Most of their chocolates have been crafted in their “chocolate factory” located in the backroom of the shop. Josophans is well worth a visit and the perfect place to get all of your Christmas confectionary.

Product Spotlight:

Hand crafted fine chocolates: Every time I visit I have to try at least a handful of their fine chocolates. My favourites are their chilli chocolates and their coffee infused chocolates.

Ginger-infused dark chocolate: This is another favourite of mine and often accompany us on our family holidays and camp trips.

MILLS AND BEANS, 88 Railway PDE

Mills and Beans is a lovely shop located in a charming cottage on Railway Pde in Leura. The shop is full of original art, lovely handmade jewellery, art prints, ceramic mugs, scented candles and much more. Fun fact: The shop is named after the owners two daughters.

Product Spotlight:

Ceramic Mugs by Indigo Love Collectors : These mugs are so beautiful and they are available in many different colours. They are the perfect size for a good cup of coffee or tea. I own one of their mugs and love the fact that it can fit under my expresso machine.

Original framed art by JulieMarieDesign: I have 3 framed floral pieces available and a few unframed. Each painting has been created in my home studio in the Blue Mountains and are one-of-a-kind originals.

KATOOMBA

UPLIFT FAIR TRADE, 81- 83 Katoomba Street

Uplift Fair trade is as the name suggests, a fair trade shop located on the main street of Katoomba. This is one of my favourite shops to visit when in Katoomba and it is a great place to find presents. Every item has been made with fair trade principles in mind, meaning that the artists have been paid a fair wage with good working conditions. When purchasing from the fair trade shop, not only do you buy something beautiful, you also support ethical working conditions.

Product Spotlight:

Fair trade chocolate: I absolutely love their fair trade chocolates. They come in many different flavours and are a great little gift idea.

Lightweight pants: These pants are just beautiful and very lightweight making them perfect for summer.

BLACKHEATH

BLACKHEATH CREATIVE, 1/124 Station Street

The Blackheath Creative is a charming little shop located behind the train tracks in Blackheath. Its bright pink sign immediately catches your eye and invites you in. The shop is full of Blue Mountains makers and you will find products such as scented candles, jewellery, original art, prints and fresh flowers.

Product Spotlight:

Liz Hunter Original Art: Owner of the shop Liz Hunter is also an artist and creates the most stunning floral inspired pieces. Her art is bright and happy and lightens up the whole shop.

JulieMarieDesign 2021 calendar: My 2021 calendar is available in the shop. Each month features either a botanical or an abstract print. The calendar has been printed here in Australia using quality gloss photo paper.
